FAQQuestion: I want to see a demonstration of the system. How can I do that?
Answer:We at TBS have our own Web-based demonstration system where we can perform an on-line demo to a varied audience. The only requirement on the client side is access to a Web browser and high speed access. We will test the link beforehand to ensure that you have not blocked certain ports that you will need to access the demonstration. Our experience to date has been that a full demonstration takes anywhere from an hour and half to two hours. An Executive Overview can be accomplished in as little as half an hour. Send queries to inforequest@totalbenchmarksolution.com and we will setup a demo and presentation at your earliest convenience.
Question:The application seems pretty comprehensive, how long does it take to implement, and what are the resource requirements on the client side?
Answer:Our standard project timeline calls for a facility to complete the initial implementation is a 2 week timeframe. The primary resource to complete the tasks required on the client side is a Coordinator, with a time commitment of twenty to forty hours during that timeframe.
Question:Technical installations are typically complicated and costly. What do you do to keep these costs down for you clients?
Answer:Our application is totally Web based. All our clients need to utilize the application is access to the Internet and a standard Web browser, regardless whether or not the client is entering data or taking surveys. For report viewing, we ask that those reviewing the reports online have access to Adobe Acrobat (which is generally available on most desktop and is also available from Adobe for free!). For those loading large amounts of data, we ask that they use Microsoft Excel, a tool that again is generally available.
Furthermore, TBS’ selection of non-proprietary standard components ensures the client that the application will be maintainable, feature-rich, and secure. Additionally, as new architectural components are made generally available, they can be incorporated into the application in a streamlined manner, with little disruption and no additional cost implications to the client.
Question:One of our concerns about our data not being stored within the “four walls” of our organization is security. How do you deal with security?
Answer:We have designed and implemented our applications to meet or exceed the standards set for by the Department of Health and Human Services for the Health Insurance Portability and Accounting (HIPAA) requirements. These security protections, include, but are not limited to, 128-bit encryption, secure socket layering, secure password construction, and periodic password changing. The application also contains a comprehensive privilege management system that limits user capabilities to those they need to use to complete the tasks assigned to them. Users completing the survey can only provide input to the surveys assigned to them.
Question:I am concerned about competitors seeing my capabilities and weaknesses using the benchmark data. How do you prevent this?
Answer:We address this concern by our “Benchmark Rule of 5.” Under this rule, no external benchmark comparison is made unless the peer data contains at least five unrelated organizations' data. This "Benchmark Rule of 5" is included in our contractual agreements with our clients.
Question:I’ve seen other applications that benchmark quality, safety, satisfaction and utilization and those applications can tell you that you have issues or problems, but not where the issue or problem is. What’s different about your solution in terms of giving me actionable information?
Answer:
Our solutions give you global indicators about quality, patient safety, satisfaction and utilization. Additionally we provide the capability to drill into those global measures to detail measures and also analyze performance with benchmarks by the following:
